911 Family Workshops will be held at Hairston Middle School on the morning of May 19th. Come out and participate in the mini conference. Special separate sessions for boys, girls and parents. Lunch will be served. For more information call 378-8280-ext 4500.

Empowerment Encounter Conference 2012 SAVE THE DATE: The GBC Youth Ministry will host “Empowerment Encounter Conference 2012” on July 13, 2012-July 15, 2012. This conference has something for everyone. Anyone who would like to assist in the planning of this year’s conference or who would like to volunteer during the conference should attend the planning and volunteer meeting on May 21st at 7pm in the Youth Sanctuary. There will be classes for Children, Youth, Young Adults, Parents, Youth Pastors, Youth Leaders, and Senior Pastors. The cost for the conference will be $10 for Children and Youth (ages 5-17yrs) and $15 for anyone 18yrs and older. Some of the class topics include: Family Matters, Raising The Now Generation, Living Single, Main Course vs. Side Dish, Relevant but Reverent (Maintaining The Message While Updating The Method), Can I Get A Witness?, Young and The Restless, Happy Feet, and Have You Done Your Homework?

Family Fun Day at Camp Weaver (See Attached)

The GBC Youth Ministry will participate in the Family Fun Day at Camp Weaver on Saturday, May 19th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Camp Weaver is located at 4924 Tapawingo Trail, Greensboro, NC. Sign up with Pastor C or by emailing the Youth Ministry at gbcyouth@genesisbaptistchurch.com by May 16th.

Youth Achievements Recognition of A Honor Roll, A/B Honor Roll and Prefect Attendance students will take place on Sunday, May 27th. Please provide Pastor “C” with a copy of your child’s report card no later than Sunday, May 6th if wish to have your child recognized.

Connecting 2 Conquer Bowling Fellowship Outing The GBC Youth Ministry will join several other Youth Ministries for a bowling outing on Friday, June 1st from 9:30pm-12:00am. The cost of bowling is $8 per person and must be paid at the time of signup. Please see Pastor C by May 27th to signup if you plan to attend. This outing is open to GBC Youth and their friends.

College Graduation Sunday All individuals who graduated Winter 2011 or who will graduate Spring 2012, please submit your name to Pastor “C” including your contact information, the name of your institution, your photo, and the degree earned. You may email your information to Pastor “C” at pastorc@genesisbaptistchurch.com or place your information in his church mailbox. Please submit all information by Wednesday, May 23rd, in order to be recognized on College Graduation Sunday on May 27th at the 10:50am service. Please invite your family and friends to join you on this special day.

High School Graduation Sunday All graduating High School Seniors, please complete a Genesis Senior Data Form. Please submit all information by Wednesday, May 30th in order to take part in our High School Graduation Sunday service that will take place on Sunday, June 24th at the 10:50am service. Please invite your family and friends to join you on this special day. On Saturday, June 23rd, we will host our High School Graduates’ Luncheon and rehearsal for High School Graduation Sunday from 11am - 12:30pm. Lunch is free. Please RSVP with Pastor “C”.

Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts There will be an interest meeting for all potential troop and/or pack leaders and prospective participants for a Genesis Baptist Church Boy Scout Troop and/or a Cub Scout Pack on Sunday, May 20th immediately following the 10:50am service in the Fellowship Hall. Contact Shamaree Brown at 336-207-6409 or Pastor “C” for more information.

UNCG Young Writers’ Camp This new camp, July 16-27, sponsors a two-week summer program for young writers. The program will be conducted under the direction of faculty members, classroom teachers, all of whom are expert teachers of writing, and a group of pre-service teachers currently learning about innovative writing instruction practices. Students can attend one week or both weeks. During week one, students entering grades 3-12 will focus on creative writing, such as poetry, drama, storytelling and graphic novels. JoyFest

JoyFest will take place on Saturday, May 26th at Carowinds. If you are interested in attending, please contact Pastor C TODAY. The cost of tickets will range from $28-$33 depending on the size of our group.
